The Ride - Details
The Ride has earned a reputation for operational excellence as well as its amazing sense of community and camaraderie. We enjoy a close relationship with all our beneficiaries; their fellows, staff, enrollees and faculties ride, volunteer and cheer us on as we work to end HIV/AIDS.
Check-in: Thursday, May 18, 2023 in the Klamon Room on the top floor of the Claudia Nance Rollins building at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. Ride weekend kicks off with a registration/welcome reception with refreshments for all riders and crew. All riders and crew will be required to register prior to the beginning of the event.
Registration Fee: The registration fee is $125 for all two-day rides, $75 for all one-day rides, and $20 for the fun ride.
Deadline: The deadline to register for the AV200 is Friday, May 12, 2023.
Out-of-town Riders: We welcome all riders to Atlanta and our beautiful state! The Rider Registration form provides an opportunity for you to indicate if you require lodging prior to or after Ride Weekend. We will do our best to accommodate your request! And if you’re not able to be present in Atlanta, the virtual ride option is for you!
How to participate: There are flexible options for riding the AV200: Multiple ride lengths, including 100-, 60-, and 30-mile routes each day. Also consider the virtual ride options to break the ride into smaller segments.
Riders can ride as individuals, create a team, or join an established team. Team participation is a fun way to promote the ride and raise funds. YOu can join or form a team at any time.
Ride Manual: All riders will receive a copy of the 2023 Rider Manual in the weeks prior to the Ride. The Manual is a “must read” and contains a wealth of logistical information to help make your weekend as enjoyable as possible.

- Traditional two-day ride: Additional ride lengths are available this year and riders may choose from the full 200-mile ride or shorter 60-mi or 30-mi routes each day of the ride. The routes will begin and end at Emory University’s Oxford College and will take riders through scenic roads away from heavy traffic. Overnight accommodation will be included for all two-day riders in the dormitories at Oxford College.
- One-day ride: Riders who are unable to commit to the full weekend have the option to join us for a one day ride on Saturday, May 20th. One-day riders will have the same route length options as two-day riders, but will not receive lodging at Oxford.
- Virtual option includes other riding formats away from the route: Av200 training rides, routes outside the Atlanta area, Peloton, etc.
- The fundraising commitment for all two-day riders is a minimum of $500. One-day riders agree to a fundraising commitment of $250. And Fun Ride participants are encouraged to raise $20. Registration is $125 for the two-day ride, $75 for the one-day ride, and $20 for the Fun Ride.
